At Rosedale Oval, our UTS North Sydney 1st were bettered by Fairfield-Liverpool 1st on a frustrating day.
With the bat first up, we compiled 8/252 from 50 overs. Take a bow, Justin Avendano: a brilliant 113 off 118 balls with seven fours and one six. There were also handy runs from Jack Feilen (31). Mac Jenkins added a useful 30 off 46 balls. Jaiveer Singh Dhanoa claimed three for 45 for Fairfield-Liverpool 1st.
The hosts reached the target at 6/255 in 49.2 overs. Brent Williams made a stylish 101 not out for our opponents, a century worth applauding. Credit to Coby Holland, who made a half-century (73) for the hosts. Jenkins starred with the ball, taking two for 37.
There were some classy individual efforts to build on. The results haven't gone our way lately, but the team will keep at it.
Chins up, everyone.
